Razer blackshark v2 review

Razer Blackshark v2. The best gaming headset has too much to place on the table. It has THX 7.1 Spatial Surround Sound with a detachable noise-cancellation microphone. When it comes to connectivity, it has multi-platform connectivity capability, for instance, you can connect the headset with PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Mobile devices.

Since the headset has a non-detachable wire, you have to connect the headset with a 3.5mm jack and USB DAX included in the box.

Build Quality

Build department of the razer series offers a metal frame headset with minimal plastic. The wireframe of the headset looks breakable, but it is fine without any issue. Style-wise it breaks the barriers and finally introduces something different because this headset series has a distinct design that does not seem bulky at all.

All three headsets are lightweight and have minimal weight. So, you can expect a high level of comfort. As for Razer BlackShark V2, it has 262g weight. The earcups of the headset offer mesh fabrics gel-infused ear cushions that can eliminate heat and extra pressure.

Similarly, the headband of the headset is wrapped in thick padding that is made of the same fabric mesh. The detachable microphone and volume wheel set the place on the left ear cup, while underneath it, there is a mic-mute button.

Sound quality.

Razer BlackShark V2 offers 50mm High-End Sound Drivers with THX 7.1 Spatial Surround Sound. The ear cups are over-ear, so you will get good sound isolation if you are living in a noisy environment. On the flip side, the THX 7.1 Spatial Surround Sound only works on PC so, you will miss the feature if you use the headset on any other device.

Now the sound quality; Razer shark V2 offers a pretty accurate excellent sound profile, but it also emphasizes high ends. In the same, the sound has no distortion at all over at 100 percent volume. If you need a headset for competitive games like CS Go, then the razer series is worth checking.

Microphone quality:

The headset offers a detachable noise-cancellation microphone that has excellent potential. The headset has a Hyperclear Cardioid Microphone, which can capture the voice from the front side rather than the surrounding.

It sounds crystal clear and accurate but without a USB DAC. When you use the headset with a USB DAC You can hear the compression happening at the high end. So, that means with USB DAC, the microphone is unable to give so much clarity. Other than that, the microphone has excellent quality.

Difference between Razer BlackShark V2 and V2 pro?

The main difference between them is wireless. Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless is a wireless gaming headset that comes at a premium price. Both headsets share the same sound stage with 50mm drivers, and You will get THX 7.1 Spatial Surround Sound in them sequentially. Razer V2 pro-offer a 2.4Ghz wireless connection with 24 hours of battery time.

The little difference you can find in build quality is the Razer logo. Razer V2 has a green logo with an exposed green cable on the upper side of the earcups, while the Razer V2 Pro has an all-black design, including logo and cord. So, if you like to use a wireless headset, you can certainly go for Razer V2 pro.

Razer BlackShark V2 X Gaming Headset

Razer v2 x black

It also has the same build quality, but with the slightest difference, for example, V2 X has a green wire in comparison to the V2. It also has less weight(240g) than the V2 headset (262g)

On the other hand, V2 X does not have a detachable microphone, but it sounds identical to the V2. You might be thinking that it has low priced. So, it may sound like a cheap headset, but in this case, you are not, because the microphone offers excellent quality without compromising.

Now the sound quality, the V2x is a bass richer headset in comparison to the V2. Other than that, it has a pure, natural sound stage that lets you perform well in competitive games. Unlike the other gaming headset, there is no muddiness, no distortion at all, even at the high volume. It can be a perfect choice if you need a gaming headset at a low price.
